How to ask about a repair

Tell the group what is broken. They can tell you whether they may be able to help. Sending this form does not book a repair.

  1. 1Choose the item type and describe the problem.
  2. 2Add your name and email address.
  3. 3Send the form, then open the link in your email.
  4. 4The group can then read your message and reply.

Examples

  • The kettle trips the socket immediately; it has not been used since.
  • The zip slider has come off a winter coat and all teeth appear present.

For immediate danger, fire, injury, gas, or mains-supply concerns, use the appropriate emergency or qualified professional service instead of waiting for an enquiry response.

Public repair enquiry

Ask Hanover Demo Repair Collective

Describe your broken item and the group will reply by email. No account is needed. Fields marked “optional” can be left blank.

This asks for advice. It does not book a repair or guarantee that the item can be fixed.

1. What needs repairing?

A short sentence is enough to start. For example: “My lamp flickers, then switches off after five minutes.”

Add a photo or more item details (optional)

Tell us about smoke, overheating, damaged wiring, a swollen battery or water damage, if any.

A photo of the item or damage can help the group. JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 4 MB. You can send the form without a photo.

This tells the group which date suits you. It does not reserve a place.

2. How can the group reply?

Use an inbox you can open. You must open the email link before the group receives your message.

Enquiries and attachments are private to you and the authorised group team. Unverified enquiries are removed after 30 days; closed enquiries are removed after two years.

Next: open the link in your email so the group receives your message.
